Documentary Project “Made for Freedom” Begins Filming

OURS IN THE USA has officially begun filming its documentary project Made for Freedom — a powerful film that tells the real stories of LGBTQI+ migrants and chronicles the creation of OURS IN THE USA, the largest Russian-speaking LGBTQI+ nonprofit organization in the United States.

The project aims to shed light on the journeys of people who fled persecution, discrimination, and violence in their home countries, seeking safety and dignity in the United States. Through personal interviews, community events, and behind-the-scenes moments, Made for Freedom reveals the resilience, unity, and courage that define the organization’s members and volunteers.

The film also explores the roots of OURS IN THE USA — from its beginnings as a small chat of mutual support in 2022 to its transformation into a nationwide movement advocating for freedom, equality, and human rights.
